Expansion of the Cycle Path near Munkbron Bridge in Stockholm’s Historic Gamla Stan District.
The project aimed to expand the existing cycle path along Munkbroleden Street, near Munkbron Bridge, in the heart of Stockholm’s historic district, Gamla Stan. The cycle route on Munkbron, located between the Riddarholmskanalen canal and Gamla Stan metro station, has been widened by converting one of the two southbound traffic lanes into a dedicated cycle path
Key aspects of the project included resurfacing and leveling the street & carriageway, constructing new drainage wells, and adjusting the kerbs. This task was part of a larger initiative to enhance the cycling infrastructure along the Riddarholmskanalen canal, improving connectivity and promoting sustainable transportation in the area.
